Evolution of Cancer Treatment from an Oncologist's Perspective at Adelphi on November 28
Dr. Kenneth Zamkoff, a cancer treatment specialist, will speak at Adelphi on November 28 on the evolution of cancer treatments.
- Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) November 16, 2012 - On Wednesday, November 28, the Office of Pre-Professional Advising and Fellowships, the Pre-Professional Club and the Biology Club will host "Evolution of Cancer Treatment-Hippocrates to Genome Sequencing: An Oncologist's Perspective." The guest lecturer, Dr. Kenneth Zamkoff, specializes in bone marrow transplant. The event will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the Adelphi University Hagedorn Hall of Enterprise, Room 215S, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY.
Dr. Zamkoff has held numerous supervisory positions. He is the former medical director of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Laboratory and the associate director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC. He has also served as the director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program, SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse, NY and as a professor of Clinical Medicine and director of the Blood and Marrow Hematopoietic Stem Cell Program in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at SUNY Stony Brook.
A graduate of University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Zamkoff has also received training in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. First completing an internship at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Dr. Zamkoff went on to serve as chief resident in medicine as well as fellow in medical oncology there.
