  • San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) March 27, 2010 - The Women's Networking Alliance is pleased to announce its campaign and charity event, Everyday Superheroes for Aaron. Aaron Tanner is a four year-old boy who looks like any other preschooler. He likes Toy Story and Spiderman and always seems to have a smile on his face. But Aaron has seen more doctors, needles and surgeries than most of us will in a lifetime. You see Aaron had his first of three open heart surgeries when he was just over a week old. And at a time when most parents are celebrating the arrival of their new baby, Aaron's parents were faced with the overwhelming tragedy of their older son, four year old, Ethan dying only a few weeks later from an undiagnosed heart condition, unrelated to Aaron's. Today Aaron and his family are up against even more heartache. Aaron is suffering from heart and kidney failure and needs a double transplant in order to save his life.

It almost seems like too much for one family to bear, but the news doesn't get any better for the Tanner family. As if the worry and pain of waiting to see if organs will become available in time to save Aaron isn't enough, his parents are also facing losing their home. With sky-rocketing medical bills that go well beyond $1 million, the Tanners are faced with maxed out insurance and severe debt from these bills that are threatening to take away their home. For now, the family has Aaron home, taking three hour trips every other day for Aaron's dialysis and waiting for the call that could save Aaron's life. It's a small bit of normalcy in an otherwise heart-wrenching story.

Aaron's story is pretty moving as is his family's resolve to save his life. It's a story that would inspire most people to want to do something to help. Debbie Quintana was one of those people. But she didn't stop there, upon hearing Aaron's story, Debbie decided she was going to do something! And, like everything Debbie does, she's doing it big. Being the president and founder of the Women's Networking Alliance and a successful entrepreneur, Debbie realized that she might be able to make a difference for this family. She's already put her efforts in to helping out numerous charities, from clothing drives for the needy to women initiatives. She's also made community service a requirement for all of her WNA chapters. Debbie DeskBut she's never taken on anything this significant, until now. This is the first time all of the country's WNA chapters will have the opportunity to contribute to the same cause, bringing everyone together to help Aaron and his family.

The "Everyday Superheroes" event has been planned for June 6, 2010 including auction, dinner and dancing and the WNA has set up a website (www.wnacommunity.com) for donations and sponsors. Bay Area Band, Above the Law and Jazz Trio, Magnolia Jazz have both volunteered their time. The Santa Clara Convention offering up their facilities to help the cause. Debbie is hoping to get the attention of a local celebrity to keynote this event to drive attendance.

It's Debbie's hope that through these efforts a little bit of the Tanner family's worries can be taken away, so they can focus all their energies on Aaron and never have to worry about having a home to go back to after the transplant surgeries. Debbie requested a "wish list" from the entire family - especially understanding that the other kids are suffering too. It has the obvious simple things like gas cards to help with the every other day trips from Brentwood to San Francisco and groceries. But Debbie has every intention of giving Aaron his "Batman Bedroom" and fulfilling the middle son's wish of being a Giant's bat boy, even if its for a day.

You can help too! Please consider publicizing this project. It makes a great human interest story and speaks volumes on what people can accomplish when they come together for a good cause. Debbie is happy to accommodate interviews and requests for information and photos can be made by contacting Debbie Quintana directly at community ( @ ) womensnetworkingalliance dot com or via phone at (408) 307-3411 dot

Auction items and financial donations can be made through the WNA Community Website at: http://wnacommunity.com.
