EUMEPS, The Industry Association For EPS Insulation, Joins Buid Up Partnership
EUMEPS, the European industry association of producers of EPS insulation, joins the BUILD UP initiative as a partner. BUILD UP is the EU Commission interactive web portal on energy efficiency in buildings. It is aimed at building professionals, public authorities and building occupants who want to share expertise and experience on saving energy in buildings. EUMEPS strongly believes that its expertise of (EPS) insulation can contribute to affordable, energy efficient buildings in Europe.
- (1888PressRelease) September 19, 2013 - Maaseik, Belgium - Buildings account for 40 % of Europe's energy use and a third of its greenhouse gas emissions. If we want to transform our society into an energy efficient one, energy efficient buildings play a vital role. The key aim of BUILD UP, part of the EU commission Intelligent Energy initiative, is to reduce the energy consumption of buildings across Europe by transferring best practices to the market and fostering their uptake. The interactive BUILD UP web portal, www.buildup.eu, brings together Europe's collective knowledge for effective implementation of energy-saving solutions in buildings. By partnering with BUILD UP, EUMEPS will benefit from the latest news and information about EU energy efficiency policy for buildings. In addition, BUILD UP will constitute an excellent networking platform to get in touch with other industry associations, decision-makers and building professionals.
EUMEPS sees this partnership as a channel to share its knowledge, industry guidelines and best practices to reduce energy consumption in buildings in case of new buildings as well as for renovation. The common interest between members of EUMEPS is a belief that EPS is the most cost effective insulation material for building and construction. EPS is the most applied thermal insulation material, holding about 35 per cent of the thermal insulation market in Europe, with over 55,000 people employed in the EPS industry. This is achieved by sharing information on the material properties and its applications, enabling an informed dialogue with builders, architects and regulatory bodies, on a national and European level.
