  • San Jose, CA (1888PressRelease) February 23, 2011 - Ether2 (www.ether2.com) and EcoNode.org are excited to announce the presentation and exhibition of their newest Distributed Queue Switch Architecture Technology (DQSA), aptly named "The Q.," at the upcoming Ethernet Technology Summit in Santa Clara, California. The Q. is a breakthrough network technology that eliminates the bottlenecks that drastically limit the current capacity of today's shared networks. Since the launch of EcoNode.org as the new industry community for "The Q.," leading carriers such as NTT, Verizon, Sprint, Qualcomm and Orange have started to review The Q.'s simulations and are looking at ways to integrate it into their respective frameworks.

"We are proud for the opportunity to showcase the power of The Q. at one of the best-known summits for Ethernet technology, ETS," said The Q. evangelist Jonathan Gael from Ether2. "In the case of the Internet, half the connection speed Americans pay for is lost to hardware that manages the network. The Q. is the only technology of its kind that eliminates these hardware bottlenecks while offering a painless migration path to networks that run more like cable and offer stable quality of service, no matter what the network traffic conditions, between the content provider and the end user.

Ether2 invites network operators and developers who want to change the world to join the EcoNode discussion on LinkedIn, where you can chat directly with our PhDs after reviewing the simulation code at EcoNode.org. "Ether2 also seeks strategic partner investment with which to develop a high level developer kit so that more carriers and OEMs can apply the 18 years of basic research that has gone into our fundamentally novel platform that will result in better performance in every measurable way. Key areas impacted are content delivery, data center server farms, smart cities, WiFi, WiMAX, Wireless Sensor Networks, fiber optic and free space optical networks," said Gael.

Because The Q. was originally developed for Cable TV networks, bursty and rich media packets are handled with ease, unifying video, voice and data to a single channel by combining the best features of circuit and packet switched networks. The Q. is a unique achievement in that it is a silicon-based technology that is not subject to Moore's Law, and therefore, the network operator will always be able to build upon their investment, halting the maddening quest and cost for ever higher bandwidth. The cost and energy savings are two-fold: Replacing cumbersome switch/router gear with self configuring passive hubs will save in hardware and administration, but The Q. will also require far less energy per bit transferred.

    About Ether2
Ether2 is a team of technology experts, bringing to market Dr. Graham Campbell's invention of Distributed Queue Switch Architecture (DQSA) as "The Q."

    About EcoNode
EcoNode.org is the new industry community for "The Q." The Q. simulation code is available free of charge to grow the developer community to help overcome these technological challenges. Leading carriers such as NTT, Verizon, Sprint, Qualcomm and Orange are currently reviewing The Q. simulation code.
