- Sacramento, CA (1888PressRelease) May 25, 2016 - Ethan Conrad Properties, owner of more than 130 commercial properties throughout northern California, has announced its first annual Small Business Contest. The contest will award $100,000 in free rent credits applicable to ECP properties in the Greater Sacramento area. Ethan Conrad Properties, Inc., will award prizes to three winning companies for the contest, with First Prize awarding $50,000 in rent credits, Second Prize with $30,000 in credits, and Third Prize with $20,000 in rent credits. The contest is designed to recognize promising existing businesses that are beyond the initial start-up phase.
The free rent prizes come with no obligation to ECP beyond the free rent credit period; eligible candidate companies should be promising small businesses in the Sacramento area, should have a targeted current annual revenue of at least $100,000, and should display greater than 20% growth in revenue per year for the past three years. In addition, companies should plan to grow revenues by at least 25% annually for the next five years, while also creating jobs in the area.
Small businesses who enter the contest will be judged on several criteria, including the quality of the management team, scalability and sustainability, growth plans, and overall financial health. All eligible applicants will be judged by seven local entrepreneurs, educators, and venture capitalists, including Ethan Conrad, CEO of Ethan Conrad Properties and Ken Miller, CFO, Ethan Conrad Properties. Additional judges include Curt Rocca of DCA Partners, Roger Akers of Akers Capital, Lokesh Sikaria of Moneta Ventures, and Jim Corbett and Corley Phillips of the Sacramento Entrepreneurship Academy.
Candidates can be any type of business, as long as they are from the Sacramento region and in compliance with all laws and regulations. They must create jobs in the area, and any type of ECP commercial property may be used. Space will be mutually agreed upon by Ethan Conrad Properties and the winners. The top five applicants will receive feedback on submissions by the judges, with the winners being announced at an awards banquet in October 2016. Contestants can submit contest applications beginning May 6th, 2016, and the final deadline for submission is August 30, 2016.
