ESET receives 70th VB100 award from 'Virus Bulletin'
ESET, the leader in proactive protection against cyber-threats, has been awarded the prestigious 'VB100'award from Virus Bulletin.

Virus Bulletin praised ESET NOD32 Antivirus in its official evaluation and comments: "Still maintaining an epic streak of passes. The interface remains attractive and pleasant to use, with good clarity in the main areas and a great level of fine-tuning under the covers. Operation was smooth and stable throughout testing, with no surprises or issues to report."

Giving Virus Bulletin yet another reason that solidified their decision on awarding them their 70th award , ESET recently announced the discovery of a new threat against the Apple Mac OS X platform. The new threat is an updated version of a previous threat with two important differences: The first addition to this threat is that it now implements persistence on an infected system and has updated command and control information. The second difference identified in the new binary is a new command and control IRC server and IRC channel. At the time of writing, neither IRC servers were responding.
"As new threats emerge on a daily basis, it is important to be at the forefront of threat discovery and management. The new threat against the Mac OS X is a clear example of people trying to create and test their developments for new environments," said Mr. Aji Joseph, General Manager, ESET Middle East. "While the new threat may be quite simple and pose limited threat to MAC users, ESET carefully monitors and manages emerging threats to ensure that we are ready for every possible attack.
