Epoc Messe Frankfurt Reports Successful 2011 Season
Company Eyes Expansion Across Region As Year's Events Drew In Over 75,000 Trade Visitors And Over 3,400 Exhibitors.
- (1888PressRelease) November 28, 2011 - Leading regional trade fair and conference organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt have reported an extremely suc-cessful 2011 exhibition season, thanks to a reviving business climate, robust regional economies and contin-ued interest in the Middle East as a business destination.
A majority of the trade events organised by Epoc Messe Frankfurt turned in extremely encouraging results, reporting significant growth in size and numbers during the past season. With over 3,400 exhibitors from around the world participating in the eight 2011 events, which attracted over 75,000 trade visitors, the German trade show and conference specialists, who are committed to the region are looking forward to continued development in 2012 and beyond.
The continued expansion in the exhibition portfolio has led to Epoc Messe Frankfurt scaling up their regional presence with an expanded Dubai office and increased staff capacity to meet demand.
"The Middle East continues to be a great place to do business as can be seen from the successful exhibitions we executed this year," said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. "With the economies of the region maintaining steady growth, the countries of the GCC continue to be preferred busi-ness destinations and as such are very attractive for exhibitors keen to expand their presence in the region," he added.
Pauwels said that the company's traditionally strong brands such as Intersec, Automechanika Middle East, Beautyworld Middle East and Hardware+Tools Middle East returned robust numbers as positive market senti-ment fuelled growth in size and numbers. Traditionally viewed as bellwether events, thanks to their finely fo-cused and representative nature, Epoc Messe Frankfurt's trade events have always been a good indicator of the direction the market is moving to.
Apart from the successful runs by already existing events, the year also saw the successful debut of two addi-tional trade events - Playworld and Paperworld Middle East. Going by initial market response, these shows look set for long and successful runs into the future.
The more specialized and niche events, Light Middle East and Materials Handling Middle East did well also and indicated the growing market for ecologically-friendly products and services in the region.
"We have always been firm believers in anticipating the needs of our partners and we are extremely flexible and willing in the face of change," Pauwels said. "The trade fair business has transformed over the years. In the early days, attending trade shows was sometimes a hit-or-miss affair. Trade visitors of today are even more business-oriented and focused on what they are looking for. Organisers have had to re-jig the way shows are put together and today the best events are intensely networked and categorised to allow the trade visitor easier access to the areas they are interested in. Technology has transformed the very essence of the trade show," he added.
Pauwels said that he expects trade fairs to continue to evolve in order to meet the needs of the clientele. They will definitely advance in the future but will continue to offer one of the most effective networking interfaces to promote business growth.
Going forward, the company plans to significantly expand its presence in the region with an initial foray into Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Epoc Messe Frankfurt is also evaluating new ventures across the region especially in Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon and Qatar.
