Eolas Technologies Inc. founder and Chairman Dr. Michael Doyle brings the National Museum of Health and Medicine to Chicago.

In the June 13, 2011, article, "Inventor Mike Doyle plans a technical marvel of a health museum," Crain's Chicago Business examines Dr. Doyle's business success and his plans to open the National Museum of Health and Medicine Chicago. The article also describes Dr. Doyle's role as a university academic leader prior to founding Tyler, Texas-based Eolas Technologies, one of the world's leading providers of technology innovations.
With a planned opening in 2015, the NMHM Chicago will be a technological marvel unlike any museum in the country, where visitors will find customizable, computer-generated 3-D presentations in place of physical exhibits seen in most museums. The facility also will host several historical exhibits, such as relics from the life and death of President Abraham Lincoln.
"This is an on-demand museum, a 'Fantastic Voyage,'" Dr. Doyle says in the Chicago Business article. "This is not stethoscopes under glass."
The magazine notes that the museum effort is a perfect fit for Dr. Doyle, bringing together his "background as a medical illustrator, his doctorate in cell and structural biology, his career as an inventor and tech pioneer and his business acumen."
Fundraising for the museum is being led by The Buonacorsi Foundation, a non-profit organization established by Dr. Doyle to support projects in the arts and sciences that promise to provide long-lasting positive impact on the human condition.
Dr. Doyle already has provided nearly $3 million to the museum effort, allowing the purchase of the historic 1933 building in downtown Chicago that is undergoing extensive renovations to house the NMHM Chicago.
