Environmental Test & Design was founded in 2009 and is owned by ITEM Media, which provides technical and business information to engineers and suppliers in three fields of electronics. Until now, Environmental Test & Design existed merely as a newsletter but now has become a full website.

Because of the website's simple layout, engineers can now search for news, standards, and the latest product developments within the test and design field according to 16 channels, thus enhancing the search experience and providing a platform for companies to feature their products on related channels.
The technology channels are classified according to Acoustics/Noise, Energy Efficiency, HALT/HASS, Harsh Environments, Lifecycle/Reliability, RoHS/ WEEE, Salt Fog/Sand/Dust, Shock/Vibration, Temp/Humidity, and Test Equipment. Finally, the new website is equipped with commenting capabilities and social media sharing so that engineers may easily engage their colleagues in the latest trends and technological developments.
