ENT Institute Physician Team Completes Training for Advanced Esophagus Examination System
The lead physicians from Atlanta's ENT Institute recently completed training for the TransNasal Esophagoscopy method, a complex procedure that will assist them in diagnosing and treating patients.

Courtney French, Dr. James Burson and Dr. Earnest Riley recently completed a trip to New York to participate in training for the TransNasal Esophagoscopy method. The training was lead by Dr. Jonathan Aviv from the Voice & Swallowing Center in Tarrytown, NY. TransNasal Esophagoscopy (TNE) is a test performed with the use of a very thin, flexible viewing tube which is passed through the nose and down the back of the throat into the esophagus (the food tube that goes from the mouth to your stomach). The procedure is performed in order to gain view of the vocal folds, larynx (voice box), esophagus, or other structures of the throat and evaluate vocal problems, swallowing difficulties, chronic cough or heartburn.
