ENR Southeast Honors I-Drive NASCAR Project, Designed by Rabits & Romano Architecture
ENR Southeast Magazine, a leading publication in the construction trade industry has honored Rabits & Romano Architecture with the Award of Merit for its work on the I-Drive NASCAR entertainment complex.
- Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2015 - The exhilarating kart racing attraction on International Drive was designed by Rabits & Romano Architecture, Planning and Design. The 65,000 square foot project opened in late 2014 and included the challenges of converting an old warehouse into a modern day raceway.
Principal Architect, Bob Rabits said, "It's an outstanding accomplishment to be honored by the top engineering and contracting trade magazine that covers commercial construction."
Rabits added, "We have been involved in many projects along International Drive. The design and development of I-Drive NASCAR is certainly one of the most exciting. It's heartwarming to see that the efforts of the developer and our firm are recognized by fellow professionals.''
The multi-use project was so dynamic that NASCAR signed on to be a partner. The I-Drive NASCAR facility features a half-mile indoor track of environmentally friendly electronic karts, powered by Sodikarts, which are capable of safely reaching speeds of 45 miles per hour.
The entertainment complex has options for the entire family including bowling, state-of-the-art games and a full-service restaurant. It has 5,000 square feet of meeting space for everything from family reunions to corporate audiences.
Rabits & Romano Architecture, Planning and Design was tasked with creating a Class-A environment for racing fans while being able to accommodate groups of up to 1,000 people. They transformed a 30-year-old, 65,000 square foot warehouse space into a new, indoor, high-performance kart racing facility and entertainment complex.
I-Drive Kart is owned and managed by AMP Group USA.
