Energy Efficient Lighting Services Help Large Companies Save Money on Operating Costs While Preserving the Environment for Generations to Come
Eco Engineering, the largest independent design and build engineering firm in the US energy efficient lighting industry, announced today that it has successfully completed the expansion of capabilities through an Asset Purchase Agreement with Eco-Shift Power (ECOP) of Cambridge, Ontario.
- (1888PressRelease) August 12, 2015 - The agreement involves the absorption of specific personnel and energy efficient lighting contracts with customers in the western region of the US and Mexico. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Eco Engineering has successfully integrated 15 former employees of ECOP's Sun Industries business unit and many of the lighting upgrade projects under development. The staff expansion adds Project Management resources in California, Texas, Colorado and Utah. Combined, this Project Management group has more than 30 years of experience in designing and implementing energy efficient lighting upgrades for large facilities in the industrial and institutional marketplace. Additionally, Eco Engineering has added new Field Construction Managers and installation crews in California and Texas to plan and supervise the delivery of large scale projects in the region and in Mexico. Experienced electricians and lighting technicians in both states joined the company because of its comprehensive employee benefit and training program; and to help provide significant project reach for new installations and upgrades. Eco Engineering also added new sales management resources to serve customers throughout the Western region, including hiring Steve Reeves, formerly of Philips Lighting, to the newly created position of Regional Sales Manager.
With the expansion, Eco Engineering has solidified its capabilities across the entire North American market, a significant benefit to large, multi-facility customers who seek a consistent project design and implementation model in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
"Eco Engineering remains committed to helping our customers reduce their energy operating costs while making a positive impact on the environment," said Tom Kirkpatrick, Eco Engineering President and CEO. "This expansion adds significant expertise and geographic reach to our capabilities and positions Eco Engineering as one of the only independent energy efficient lighting firms with an international footprint to serve the North American market." Kirkpatrick added that "we welcome the new associates and look forward to delivering quality services and economic benefit to the customers and prospects throughout the region."
Eco Engineering's primary business is providing energy efficient lighting services to both Fortune 1000 firms and large Energy Services Companies (ESCOs). The company has a distinctive profile in that they are an engineering and design firm which comprehensively audits the existing lighting infrastructure of major facilities to optimize the savings potential from upgraded lighting systems, controls and technologies. Eco Engineering also provides turn-key execution services and performs all project implementation; build out of the new design and EPA compliant disposal services. In addition, the firm helps clients qualify for any federal, state or local utility incentives to reduce project expense and boost return-on-investment.
Eco Engineering will complete over 500 large projects in 2015 involving office buildings, industrial facilities, schools, hospitals, hotels, retail stores, and distribution centers. The combined impact of these projects for their customers was a reduction of 100 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year and more than $10 million in annual energy savings. The company has been growing rapidly in recent years and expects continued double-digit growth as organizations recognize the importance of sustainability while reducing operating expenses.
