Employment Planet To Raise Donations For Gulf Oil Spill Relief
Each employee to donate five percent of bi-weekly paycheck until December 1.
- (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2010 - CLEVELAND-During the past year, no event has captured the attention of the American public and the media like the BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. A permanent cement plug has finally sealed the origin of the spill, but the heavy economic and environmental damage will continue to affect the region for years to come.
In an effort to help the region to recover from this national disaster, Employment Planet has taken action. From now until December 1, each Employment Planet employee will contribute five percent of their bi-weekly paycheck toward Gulf Oil Spill Relief. The company hopes to raise over $5,000 in donations for organizations such as the National Wildlife Federation and the Gulf Relief Foundation.
Director of National Recruiting Stephanie Silverstein says, "As a company whose goal is to reduce human global impact, this is an issue close to all of our hearts. The oil spill will not only affect the Gulf's ecosystem for decades to come, but also the residents of the area that have been completely disenfranchised by this event."
Stephanie went on to say, "The Gulf may be thousands of miles away from our national headquarters in Cleveland, but we hope to send a message to fellow businesses that even small companies are still capable of instigating big change."
