Lance Allgower, DO receives Emergency Department Medical Director of the Year at the EMP Directors' Meeting in December 2010 in Las Vegas.
- Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria, OH (1888PressRelease) January 20, 2011 - Lance Allgower, DO, FACEP, was named Emergency Medicine Physicians (EMP) West Medical Director of the Year. Dr. Allgower serves as the Director for St. Rose Dominican Hospitals' Rose de Lima Campus Emergency Department. He is also the Emergency Ultrasound Director and Director of Operations for the three St. Rose Hospitals in the Henderson Valley near Las Vegas. He has a reputation for compassion and consistently ranking among the highest in national Patient Satisfaction. His clinical acumen and attention to detail have earned him distinction in the hospital and among his colleagues in the community.
EMP West presented its Annual Recognition Awards at the EMP Directors' Meeting in December 2010 in Las Vegas.
Rick Henderson, Medical Director of the St. Rose Hospital EDs, provided the highest praise for Lance, citing him as a great "wing man" and strong advocate for emergency medicine in the greater Las Vegas area. "Lance has shown himself to possess a sound character, someone you can depend upon no matter what. He is known as someone who unfailingly has the energy and enthusiasm to come in on a bad shift, to help out in an undesirable situation, and be present and helpful when conditions seem bleak. Lance possesses the abilities and the personality of a superior leader, and it has been an honor and a privilege to work with him all of these years."
Dr. Allgower earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He earned his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences/COMP in Pomona, California. He performed his Internship and Emergency Medicine Residency at OUCOM/Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Allgower is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and its Nevada Chapter.
