Emirates One&only Wolgan Valley Creates Bespoke ‘1832 Wolgan Gin’
This summer, inspired by the rich culture of Wolgan Valley, Emirates One&Only - Australia’s ultra-luxury conservation resort in the Blue Mountains unveils the locally distilled 1832 Wolgan Gin which is crafted in partnership with Sydney’s finest prominent gin bar Mikey Enright.
- (1888PressRelease) January 05, 2019 - The distiller at the historic Stone Pine Distillery in Bathurst, The Barber Shop & Ian Glen, 1832 Wolgan Gin is aromatic, sumptuous with its earthy connection to nature.
This artisan blend is named after first settler legacy of Wolgan Valley 1832 and thus keeping the historic reference intact. The 1832 Wolgan Gin is crafted with the distilled water from the pure Carne Creek that drifts through the resort’s surrounding. This gin has the taste of seven native botanicals creating the distinctive flavor of this region. The coriander seed, hand-picked lemon-scented tea tree, finger lime, angelica root, juniper berry, orris root and liquiorice root create this magical blend with pristine bushland wilderness.
“1832 Wolgan Gin reflects our passion here at Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley to source seasonal and local produce to showcase the best of the region’s natural flavors,” said James Wyndham, General Manager, and Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley. “We have foraged native botanicals and sourced pristine local waters to create a beautiful craft gin with true provenance. Mikey Enright from The Barber Shop is a passionate artisan who has collaborated with us on this project, and we have worked with the historical Stone Pine Distillery, not only because they are our neighbors, but also because their minimal-process approaches to gin making is perfectly aligned with the sustainable ethos of Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley.”
Further, the owner of The Barber Shop gin bar said, “Creating 1832 Wolgan Gin was a true adventure. We explored the beautiful Wolgan Valley, hand-picking the native plants, seeds and flowers that perfectly capture the spirit of the region, and then worked with our colleagues at the Stone Pine Distillery just over the mountain, to create a unique gin blend. We’re immensely proud of it.”
The 1832 Wolgan Gin is exclusively available to enjoy at the Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley resort and also in the Barber Shop gin bar in Sydney.
