Emergenza invades Paris' Gibus on September 19
Emergenza will rock the Gibus on Thursday September 19!
- (1888PressRelease) September 12, 2013 - The Gibus is one of France's premiere musical venues. Since its inception in 1967, the Gibus has become a legendary figure. It is a true cult place of rock that has kept its prestige and reputation. Some of musics biggest legends have graced its stage including; Iggy Pop, James Brown, Deep Purple, Telephone, The Sex Pistols, Les Rita Mitsouko, The Clash, Police, Johnny Thunders, Chuck Berry, Patti Smith Justice, BB King and many more!
Emergenza is the premiere rock festival for up and coming unsigned bands. In 1991 a group of musical minded friends thought up the concept and in 1992 Emergenza held its first event in front of 245 fans. Five months later the numbers grew to more than 3000. Emergenza has never stopped growing!
Emergenza is held in knockout rounds each band takes to the stage for 30 minute sets and during the first rounds votes are cast by the attending audience. The vote is open and the audience can vote as many times as it wishes for as many bands as they choose. The final rounds are decided by the votes of a professional panel of judges.
Each bands goal is to win their countries national competition so they advance to the international finals. The international finals are held each August at the Taubertal Open Air Festival. Bands are flown to Germany at Emergenza's expense. The will get the opportunity to share the bill with a lineup of rock legends.
The international winner is crowned the "Best Band in the World" and wins a tour, promotion, studio time, free musical instruments and so much more.
Eight bands will take to the stage at the Gibus. The lineup includes punk rock band Nothing to Tell, rock blues band Rising Eruption, rock band The Mirande's, folk rock performer Martin Laumond, rock band Catapult the Rhino, electro band Djinn Djinni, fusion band 4 G'ies and rock band BDG.
