Emaar MGF celebrates 'World Environment Day'
Company organises plantation drives and awareness programs at project sites.
- (1888PressRelease) June 10, 2015 - Gurgaon : India's leading real estate developer, Emaar MGF recently commemorated the 43rd 'World Environment Day' on 5th June at its various project sites in Gurgaon and Mohali. The company organised a multitude of activities to stress upon the importance of adopting eco-friendly attitude, and practices amongst employees and Contractor's staff.
The World Environment Day is an annual initiative founded by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in 1972. It is celebrated every year on 5th June to encourage citizens across the globe, for taking positive environmental action to protect the nature and our planet. This year's theme is, "Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care", to promote sustainable lifestyles, and responsible management of available natural resources.
Emaar MGF celebrated the occasion this year at its project sites like Marbella, Palm Terraces Select, Capital Towers, Palm Hills, Palm Garden, Imperial Garden, Gurgaon Greens, Emerald Hills, Emerald Plaza, Digital Greens, The Palm Drive in Gurgaon, and Mohali Hills in Mohali, Chandigarh. The occasion saw enthusiastic participation from employees and construction workers in various activities like plantation drives by planting 350 saplings, poster and banner-making competitions, awareness programs and flag marches to raise environmental consciousness. Company also organised various awareness sessions wherein the project in-charges stressed upon the importance of environment. The event concluded with sweet distribution and prize distribution ceremony for most health, safety and environmentally conscious site workers.

Alongside developing green projects having global quality, Emaar MGF has regularly conducted several engagement initiatives. The company recently celebrated National Safety Week and organized annual blanket distribution drive across its project sites in India. It holds regular health camps and awareness sessions for its site workers on occasions like World AIDS Day and World Quality Day, apart from activities like blood donation camps and gift distribution to children of construction labourers. It also runs Mobile Crèches for these children providing for their education, nutrition and health. Moreover, Emaar MGF has contributed to various relief funds for natural calamities like floods and earthquakes; in addition to working with NGOs operating in the field of disability, education and healthcare.
