Elle Febbo Celebrates Birthday with OC Foster Youth through "My Giving" Campaign
Former Orangewood Children's Home resident turned bestselling children's author gives back for her birthday, and invites others to do the same.
- (1888PressRelease) February 04, 2012 - Orange, CA -- Elle Febbo was once a child resident at Orangewood Children's Home for abused, abandoned and neglected children in Orange County, CA; today, she's a bestselling author, and child advocate who's opted to pass on the birthday gifts this year, and instead is asking friends and family to make a donation to Orangewood Children's Home through her latest "My Giving" campaign.
"It's so easy to set up, so easy to give back through "My Giving", and means so much to these children who deserve to feel loved and celebrated on their birthday. I think if more people understood how easy it is to make a difference, more people would be doing it", says the author, who shares a small snippet of her story on her "My Giving" wall.
This is her second time hosting a "My Giving" campaign; during her last campaign, she exceeded her Holiday gift giving goal through the use of friends, family and social media.
The writer is an active participant in the annual Career Day for Transitioning Foster Youth through the Orangewood Children's Foundation, and also serves as a spokesperson for Reading Is Fundamental of Southern California (RIFSoCal), an LA based literacy group which builds at-home age appropriate libraries for underprivileged youth.
Her award winning children's book, "What Love Is A-Z" is often used as a tool for service, raising funds and awareness for such organizations as the World Food Programme, the Citizens Commission on Human Rights of Florida, Orangewood Children's Foundation, and Reading Is Fundamental of So. Ca.
