Filipino-born Canadian electronica artist Jroc Seventy One revealed details about his accomplishments during his hiatus and his upcoming album.
- (1888PressRelease) March 15, 2013 - In a recent video interview published on Youtube, Filipino-born Canadian electronica artist Jroc Seventy One revealed details about his accomplishments during his hiatus and his upcoming album, "Dropping Intelligence".
The video has Jroc Seventy One answering questions about taking some time off to polish his skills in England, participate in a remix contest, and work on other projects, before releasing his second album on February 2013.
Jroc Seventy One discloses that after his debut album, he traveled to London, England and enrolled in courses to further upgrade his skills. Recognizing his talent, the institute enrolled him in the Ableton advanced program. In what he called a "humbling experience", Jroc Seventy One worked with veteran music producers to develop new techniques and reach the "next level". The break clearly paid off, as the artist expresses confidence in the flow and sound of his music. "I now have an arsenal of skills which I could share with my fans," says Jroc Seventy One. The evolved sound will be featured on the new album, and he is certain that it will sound "fantastic".
The video interview also reveals Jroc Seventy One's participation in various competitions during his time off. One of the first contests he entered was the Converse contest in New York. Knowing his "pride was on line", he used his originality to impress the judges and placed well. Jroc also entered a Indaba-sponsored contest. An eye-opening experience, the contest was a nerve-wrecking event, but Jroc Seventy One still managed to place fourth out of more than 234 contestants worldwide.
Jroc Seventy One had been working on "Dropping Intelligence" before studying in London, but he postponed the release in order to truly develop his style. Working at least 8 or 9 hours a day, Jroc Seventy One truly infused his "passion for music" into the album. "I'm really proud of this sophomore album," Jroc Seventy One explains. "I've matured as a musician during the short period between my debut album and Dropping Intelligence."
