Comprehensive presentation by eHosting DataFort will encompass industry trends on DR.
- (1888PressRelease) March 16, 2015 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - eHosting DataFort (eHDF), the region's leading managed hosting and cloud infrastructure services provider will be highlighting the importance of Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR) at the 4th Middle East BCM & IT Resilience Summit organized by CORE Management Consulting (Continuity and Resilience). The summit will be held in Dubai on March 16 & 17 at the Address Hotel, Dubai Mall.
The conference, which will be attended by over 200 professionals representing a range of industries, will focus on BCM and also emphasize on IT Resilience this year. It brings together some of the most influential regional and global speakers who will present and discuss the BCM implementation lifecycle covering a 360 degree perspective including topics on Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management and Emergency Response, Safety, Information Security and Physical Security.
"It is imperative that businesses understand the difference between Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity and how they must plan to be in a continuous state of IT preparedness to meet their short term and long term business goals." said, Yasser Zeineldin, CEO, eHosting DataFort.
"Our insights indicate that there needs to be a greater push by organizations to plan and build their IT Disaster Recovery readiness to avoid financial losses which may occur due to business disruption resulting from network failure, power outage, human error, etc. In line with what the summit aims to focus on, eHDF will share our experience on how organisations in the region are optimizing BCM budgets by working with an IT Disaster Recovery services provider. We will also highlight the advantages of using specialists who are equipped to provide these services as compared to in-house management of DR." Zeineldin added.
A 2014 regional BCM survey conducted by eHDF in collaboration with Continuity and Resilience, the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and DNV GL Business Assurance clearly indicates that there is a greater focus on BCM investments. The survey reflected that 27% of the respondents invest anywhere between US$100,000 to US$250,000 to implement and sustain their BCM program, 22% invest between US$250,000 to US$1 million and large organizations in the banking, oil and gas, telecoms, government and e-commerce sectors accounted for 11 per cent to have set aside BCM budgets of more than US$1 million.
Dhiraj Lal, Executive Director, Continuity and Resilience, said, "BCM and IT Resilience has been gaining momentum in UAE and this can be highlighted by the fact that His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council himself attended the 'Business Continuity first forum' held a few months ago. In fact, a decision has also been taken for a Risk Management and Business Continuity award to be established as part of the categories for the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance. Also, we have seen a steep increase in the number of delegates expected to attend the summit this year who are very keen to take away a wealth of information that will be will shared by 25 eminent global and regional speakers."
