Education Minister Takes Class Of 186 Teachers With Poor Result
he Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today held a marathon brainstorming session with 186 such teachers who have delivered drastically poor performance in the examinations of 10th and 12th.

Dr. Cheema also directed the officers to frame comprehensive training schedule for these teachers who delivered results below than 20per. During the meeting it has brought to the notice of the minister that the strength of the schools is considerably decreasing in those schools with poor result in the examination. it is your prime duty to maintain the status of your schools in your locality by delivering good results, Dr Cheema asked the teachers. He said that from the next academic session the ACRs of teachers would be recorded purely on the basis of their performance and teachers who would continue to be poor performer would be taken to task with strict discipline actions.
The meeting which was held at auditorium of Punjab School Education Board was attended by the Director General School Education Mr. Pardeep Kumar Aggarwal, D.P.I. (SS) Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, Chairperson, PSEB Dr. Tejinder kaur Dhaliwal, D.P.I. (EE) Mr. Harbans Singh Sandhu, Director, S.C.E.R.T. Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon.
After deliberating with the teachers showing poor results, the Education Minister decided that in coming years while preparing Annual Confidential Reports (ACR) of these teachers, the results shown by them would be the basis. The teachers showing poor results for 5 years have been given last chance this time and if this year too they showed poor results then they would be strictly proceeded against. Dr. Cheema also directed all the D.E.O.s to hold a personal meeting till 31stJanuary with the teachers showing 20-50 percent results and send a report to the headquarters.
He further said that the total 3017 such teachers in the state and the next training programme would be chalked out after ascertaining the reasons of poor results and gathering of suggestions. After holding consultations about the poor results of Science stream, the education minister decided on the spot to prepare a dictionary, having each word in Punjabi and English, for the 10thstandard students of science to mitigate the problem being faced by the 11thstandardmedical and non-medical stream students in the English medium.
Earlier, the education minister called the teachers with poor results one by one and the teachers showing nil (0 percent) results were called first. The results of 5 years of each teacher were displayed on board while on the other side, the ACRs of concerned teachers were displayed.
In this meeting 186 teachers/lecturers have been summoned who have shown poor performance by delivering 80 to 100 percent result failure in board examinations of 10thand 12thstandards. Out of these 186 teachers/lecturers 32 teachers have shown worst result with 100 percent result failure in 10thand 12thexaminations. Likewise the average result failure of 4 teachers is ranging between 95 to 99 percent, 15 teachers with average 90 to 94 percent result failure and average 80 to 89 percent students failed in their examinations taught by 135 teachers.
