- San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) September 29, 2011 - Edtuit, Inc. (www.edtuit.com), announces immediate availability of Reward Explorer™ for iPhone.
More than a digital wallet, Reward Explorer serves membership benefit information like discounts and rewards from organizations such as VISA, Discover, AAA, KQED, San Francisco Zoo, etc., and maps them to geo locations. Typical savings from using existing membership discounts and rewards adds up to several hundred dollars per year.
For example, when visiting the local Zoo, find out which of your memberships provide the best deal. Or when at the gas pump, check which of your credit cards offers most points or cash back.
"There are many apps out there already that help you track your reward cards in a digital wallet form, but they don't help you realize the immediate value of your existing memberships when you are at the checkout stand," says Marten Nelson, an Edtuit co-founder and CEO. He experienced this last winter at a local Sports Basement store in Walnut Creek. While standing in line, he overheard the customer ahead of him ask if she could still get 10% off with her Costco card. "I have a Costco card, and I didn't even know about a 10% discount at Sports Basement," said Nelson. Turns out, many existing membership programs offer lots of 3rd party benefits, especially from local vendors (large and small), but they are most often not published. "Why not give vendors an easy platform to publish the benefits, and an easy way for consumers to find and share them with others," he added.
Even for those membership programs that have listings available, they are either online or in a benefits sheet you get with your card - an inconvenient location when you are out shopping and just need to know if you are going to take 10% off with your Costco membership, or if your Zoo membership will get you free admission.
Reward Explorer is powered by the Edtuit GeoPerks™ Web Service, which serves membership benefit information such as discounts and rewards and maps them to geo locations where those benefits apply. With GeoPerks, companies improve customer retention as their customers see more value in the membership. GeoPerks includes thousands of membership discounts and rewards (known as "perks") and is growing rapidly.
Any business can list their membership perks with GeoPerks. The GeoPerks service will be available to other developers in Q4 2011.
