Edible Arrangements HK Celebrates Womanhood: International Women's Day Gala Lunch 2011
Edible Arrangements Hong Kong collaborates with The Women's Foundation for the International Women's Day Gala Lunch, held on 7 March 2011. As a retail partner and notable sponsor of the event, Edible Arrangements Hong Kong will provide dessert with the coffee for this luncheon. Partial proceeds of their March sales will be donated to The Women's Foundation.
- (1888PressRelease) March 07, 2011 - Hong Kong - Edible Arrangements Hong Kong celebrates the centenary of International Women's Day on 7 March 2011 with a Gala Lunch organised by The Women's Foundation.
International Women's Day is a global celebration of women's economic, political and social progress in society. International Women's Day pays homage to those who propelled the Women's Movement to its current stature. On the 8th of March, the world celebrates what women have achieved in spite of sexism and reminds the world of the continual gender inequalities that need to be addressed.
The onus of this year's International Woman's Day is to pave a "Pathway to decent work for women" by providing "equal access to education, training and science and technology." To help create this pathway, Edible Arrangements Hong Kong will donate a portion of the proceeds of all sales in March to The Women's Foundation.
In a more optimistic light, International Women's Day has evolved from being a reminder of women's strife to a celebration of their successes. To commemorate this centenary celebration, Edible Arrangements Hong Kong is working in collaboration with The Women's Foundation to organise the International Women's Day Gala Lunch, featuring Fanny Cheung, Founding Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission, as the keynote speaker. As a retail partner and notable sponsor of the event, Edible Arrangements Hong Kong will provide dessert with the coffee for this luncheon that highlights many of Hong Kong's leading women's networks.
