Ed Walters Accepts Outstanding Affordable Housing Award
NJBA Recognizes Industry Leader, Accomplishments.
- Atlantic City, NJ (1888PressRelease) May 01, 2013 - New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA) honored Ed Walters, Jr., partner and founder of Walters Group, for his achievements in the housing industry. The Affordable Housing Award, presented during the 2013 Annual Industry Awards Luncheon at the Atlantic Builders Convention in Atlantic City, recognized Walters for successfully providing affordable housing for those of modest means in the state. Walters Group has created Stafford Park Apartments, a 112-unit apartment project in Manahawkin; and Whispering Hills Apartments, a 52-unit complex in Barnegat. The developer is now completing a similar community in Barnegat known as Laurel Oaks, a 94-unit community slated to open in the fall 2013. When completed, these projects will result in the construction of 258 affordable units.
NJBA is the leading trade association for the construction industry. As a member of Shore Builders Association of Central New Jersey (SBACNJ), the local chapter, Walters serves on the Board of Directors and the Green Building/High Efficiency Committee. In the past, he has received recognition from SBACNJ by being inducted into the Builder Hall of Fame, as well as receiving the Builder of the Year, Big Spike of the Year, and BEAM Awards.
