Ecova's Utility Division Delivers 108 Twh Of Energy Savings
Programs result in almost $13 billion in savings for utility customers.
- Spokane, WA (1888PressRelease) June 09, 2015 - Ecova, the total energy and sustainability management company, today announced that in partnership with its utility clients it has delivered 108 terawatt hours (TWh) of energy savings over the last eleven years?including nearly 19 TWh of savings in 2014. This lifetime savings of 108 TWh is equivalent to production from 20,500 wind turbines for one year, preventing 74 million tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere or providing over two years of total household electricity to New England.
Since 2004, Ecova's energy efficiency programs have worked to help utilities meet their savings goals and reduce utility customer's energy costs. Ecova delivers targeted and cost effective energy management programs powered by the Ecova Efficiency Platform to increase participation, improve customer experience and drive deeper savings for their utility clients. These verifiable savings are instrumental in helping utilities reach their savings goals while also reducing energy costs for their customers.
One of Ecova's recent program successes is its partnership with Mass SaveŽ to deliver the Mass Save "Bright Opportunities" C&I Lighting Initiative, a program providing incentives to distributors to move more energy efficient products into their commercial customers' facilities. "Ecova's implementation of this flexible program design accommodated our savings goals and helped the market more rapidly adopt efficient commercial lighting products," said Nate Strong, supervisor, C&I energy efficiency with Eversource. "The program has consistently exceeded the established goals for both unit sales and kWh savings, validating the potential of this program design. Ecova's team has helped this Mass Save program capture over 365 million kWh of savings over the past four years."
"In order for utilities to achieve their savings goals and increase customer loyalty, they need targeted, simple, personalized and cost effective programs that deliver value and make it easy for their customers to conserve energy," said Jana Schmidt, president and CEO of Ecova. "Analytics and a sophisticated understanding of how to influence purchasing decisions are essential elements to reaching these desired outcomes. The 108 TWh of energy saved is a testament to our work to make a difference and drive verifiable savings."
Ecova's programs use sophisticated data-driven marketing and analytics to help utilities enhance relationships with their residential and commercial and industrial customers while providing verifiable energy savings. From driving the adoption of LED lights to installing efficient equipment to creating personalized whole-home and business efficiency plans, Ecova provides a variety of services to utilities to help their customers see more and save more.
