Ecobliss Advocates Environmental Entertainment at Sleep Train Pavilion
Ecobliss facilitates ways to endorse pro-social action by balancing the impact of tour productions carbon footprint.
- (1888PressRelease) August 15, 2010 - San Jose-Calif -- It was an exciting night of soulful and progressive entertainment at the Sleep Train Pavilion, as eco-friendly water bottles were made available to performing artists, Raheem DeVaughn, Jaheim, Kem, Anthony Hamilton and their production crew, according to an initiative launched Friday by Ecobliss.
The environmental initiative was designed in hopes of helping recording artists reduce their carbon footprint while on tour and making a meaningful effort toward becoming conscious of responsible choices that protect the environment.
"Our objective for this event was to encourage the use of biodegradable water bottles instead of plastic," said Ecobliss spokesperson Regina Cramer. "It looks like the trend is heading toward doing what's in the best interest of the earth." The proposed San Francisco ban on water bottle distribution at city sponsored events may be the direction of the future. "The fact that plastic water bottles are filling up landfills inspired a platform that would reduce and eventually eliminate the use of plastic water bottles on-set and be replaced with 100 percent recyclable water containers," Cramer says.
To initiate the pro-social campaign, Ecobliss promoted a synergistic approach to eco-consciousness by supporting Live Nations "green" initiative of minimizing landfill contamination and increasing artist and public awareness.
The overall project results included 65% less fossil fuel used and 68% less green house gas emissions based on the use of plastic water bottle alternatives.
