Eclectic Society Debuts Eclectic Their Bi-Annual Fashion and Lifestyle Magazine
Eclectic Society Makes The Jump From Fashion Website To Print Magazine.
- (1888PressRelease) September 03, 2013 - Making the jump from just another fashion blog into the world, of print became a reality at the start of the month for the editors behind Eclectic. Co-founders Anniina Mäkelä:, Charin Chong, and Anna Barr all met in Paris while working on various creative projects together from styling to forecasting. Always behind the scenes inspired the trio to form a collective of stylists, make-up artists, photographers and journalists also behind the scenes in fashion to have a creative outlet to share what is inspiring them at the moment. As the site grew with contributors from New York, Toronto, and London, they quickly felt the fashion capitals of world growing a bit closer.
Following the success of their website, they embarked on new territory with launching a print magazine out the 1st September 2013. As three women abroad, carving new positions for themselves in fashion, it seemed fitting for Feminism to be the loose theme of the debut magazine although this could be seen from critics as an opposing choice for a new fashion magazine.
"Over the past few years feminine styles border the masculine as women are on the rise in politics, heading creative teams, female solo artists are out-selling, opening businesses and leading in top executive chairs. In this issue we try to take an encompassing look at the multiplicities of identities of women today while we explore the theme of the new wave of feminism in fashion that doesn't shy away from the romantic, fragile, and strong. It is an exciting time as women are redefining our roles in order to adapt whether in personal relationships or society" they explain in their editors' note.
Being based in Paris has also allowed a peek into the fashion capital that is often over looked States side, where it is overshadowed with New York and emerging French labels get lost battling it out against the French luxury power houses. Offering more than fashion, they look into French music today which gets little press in English along with concept boutiques and eateries in the French capital. While the majority of the content focuses on what's new in Paris, the international team brings in their own background to curate a clean outlook on fashion, beauty, and culture with a distinct aesthetic that can only be described as your "grown up fashion magazine" with an eclectic approach of course.
Eclectic print magazine is available to order from visiting their website. Please contact contact(at)eclectic-society(dot)com if you would like to speak with either Anniina, Charin, or Anna to get their take on the ever changing landscape of fashion and culture in France and it's influence abroad.
