About E. Patrick Gilman
E. Patrick Gilman is a partner in the Firm’s White Collar Defense, Investigations & Compliance Practice Group and is the co-lead of the Firm’s National Security practice. Patrick is a former federal prosecutor in the United States Army and a seasoned trial lawyer with extensive experience prosecuting and defending criminal and high-profile national security cases before both federal and state trial and appellate courts.
Patrick’s practice focuses on national security, cyber security, anti-money laundering, and anti-corruption matters, often representing corporations with global operations and significant risks of criminal liabilities.
Another key component of Patrick’s practice is internal investigations and assessing corporate risk. This portion of his practice includes the representation of executives relating to issues that involve the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Committee on Foreign Investment of the United States (CFIUS) and anti-money laundering investigations.
Before joining Brown Rudnick, Patrick was an award-winning Judge Advocate in the United States Army focused on prosecuting violations of international and domestic federal criminal law. He has worked globally throughout Europe, the Middle East and East Asia, building and leading teams focused on and managing complex trials and conducting and managing investigations. Patrick is a decorated combat veteran with more than 18 years of experience in investigations and litigation, national security law, and disrupting illicit financial criminal networks. Patrick maintains a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
