Durable CORDURA(R) Fabric Featured in New All-Star Chuck Taylor
Converse Footwear in Japan chooses added durability to upgrade a time-tested classic shoe.
- Wichita, KS (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2011 - INVISTA's CORDURA® brand team announces the adoption of CORDURA® fabric by Converse Footwear in Japan as part of the newest design in their famous All-Star Chuck Taylor line. The collection features 1000 denier CORDURA® Classic and 1680 denier CORDURA® Ballistic fabrics.
Paying homage to the long history of CORDURA® fabrics used in the military market, the shoe is available in camouflage or ballistic black styling.
"We can all remember the old-school "Chuck's" from back in the day starting on the basketball court and making their way into pop-culture fashion," says Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director. "Now, with the help of CORDURA® fabric, you can get a pair that has the durability to help the shoes last for future generations, and styles, to come."
The construction is the same, reminiscent of the classic Chuck Taylor style that originated in the early 1920s with the rubber sole, high top laces and leather logo patch on the ankle. With the inclusion of CORDURA® fabric the time-tested shoe receives an upgrade in durability.
"CORDURA® fabric has always been known for its durability," said Teppei Sasao, Head Designer of Converse Footwear in Japan. "Now as a key ingredient in our shoe we can provide modern style and durability against wear and tear thanks to the fabric's reputation."
The All-Star Chuck Taylor using CORDURA® brand fabric is manufactured by Converse Footwear and is currently only available in Japan.
