Duke Energy Foundation Donates Additional Funds to Assist Ripley County Storm Victims
Duke Energy is increasing its assistance to Ripley County storm victims following a grant challenge issued by the county’s community foundation.
- (1888PressRelease) March 14, 2012 - The Duke Energy Foundation will donate $5,000 to the Ripley County Community Foundation to assist victims from the deadly tornadoes that struck the area on March 2. The county’s foundation will then match the Duke Energy donation with $5,000.
This matched donation, combined with an earlier Duke Energy Foundation donation to the Ripley County Red Cross, results in $15,000 worth of emergency relief for county storm victims.
“We believe in giving back to the communities we serve, particularly in time of great need,” said Cathy Wenning, Duke Energy Indiana east district manager. “We appreciate the leadership of the Ripley County Community Foundation in the wake of this emergency.”
Duke Energy Indiana’s operations provide approximately 6,800 megawatts of owned electric capacity to approximately 790,000 customers, making it the state’s largest electric supplier. More information is available at www.duke-energy.com.
