DTI Names Michael Marsilio Director of Information Security and Compliance

(DTI), the nation's largest private independent provider of discovery services, facilities management and knowledge solutions, announces the recent hiring of information technology and security leader Michael Marsilio as the company's new Director of Information Security and Compliance. In this newly created role, Mr. Marsilio is responsible for all aspects related to protecting the confidentiality, privacy and integrity of client and corporate data for DTI's discovery services business.
The addition of this position, which reports to DTI's Vice President of Technology, is a result of the company's continued growth and success as well as a continued commitment to security and privacy. Appointing a high-level resource to this role ensures undivided attention will remain focused on both creating and maintaining policies, standards and procedures for information security and data privacy. This includes monitoring compliance with internal information security policies and external regulatory and contractual requirements, as well as maintaining existing and achieving new security standards (ISO 27001/27002, SSAE 16 (formerly SAS 70), PCI, etc.).
Mr. Marsilio brings to DTI extensive experience in information technology management, operations, security/risk management, and systems development across various industries. Most recently he served as Director of IT, Securities and Facilities for Hillside UMC. Previously, he was Director of IS and Security for StoreLink Retail Group. He also served as Vice President of IT, Security and Product Support for Shavlik Technologies LLC, before which he spent nearly 10 years in IT security and consulting roles.
Marsilio's expertise in the areas of information security and compliance is further supported by his education and certifications in these areas. He is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM - ISACA) and holds a Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification from General Electric Capital.
