Popular UK based doctor search engine and review website DrSearchCentre has relaunched it's website using a powerful new front-end framework championed by Twitter.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) March 14, 2012 - Popular UK based healthcare search engine DrSearchCentre.co.uk has relaunched with thousands of new listings and is now powered by the quickly growing open source Twitter Bootstrap framework. The search engine, which allows the public to find nearby NHS Doctors and Surgeons, view practice details and check reviews, has expanded.
"With over 50 thousand clinics and practitioners listed, we're [now] one of the largest comprehensive healthcare directories in Europe," said founder Bob Mac when asked about the relaunch. "We've adopted the Twitter Bootstrap front-end framework to allow us to scale DrSearchCentre.co.uk faster and to provide a better experience for our users." The site relaunched with the new front-end framework and new listings in February 2012.
Finding Doctors in the UK
DrSearchCentre.co.uk focuses on helping UK residents search for Doctors in the NHS network. The NHS, which launched in 1948, has grown to become the largest publicly funded healthcare service in the world. The NHS provides primary healthcare services through a network of GP clinics and surgeon clinics across the UK which are free to UK residents at the point-of-service. For this reason clinics within the NHS healthcare service are extremely popular for UK residents. DrSearchCentre.co.uk thrives by helping UK residents find NHS healthcare locations near their location quickly. The Doctor finding service also provides users with the ability to review healthcare providers on a per Doctor or per Clinic basis which can help other users get better quality healthcare experiences.
Twitter Bootstrap Framework
The Twitter Bootstrap framework which now powers the front-end of the DoctorSearchCentre.co.uk website is a powerful open-source framework for HTML, CSS and javascript championed by the Twitter development team. "The responsive nature of the Twitter Bootstrap framework will help us provide a more natural experience for our users who access our service on mobile devices and tablets," said Mac. The Twitter Bootstrap framework was released in early 2011 and has since become a popular front-end solution for many popular web services.
Future Plans
DrSearchCentre.co.uk plans to expand its service in the future to include more facets of healthcare including Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Dental and Chiropractic. "We aim to be a one-stop destination for finding great healthcare as fast as possible," Bob Mac added". With more functionality and a growing user base it wouldn't be surprising to see them release an iPhone or Android application in the near future.
DrSearchCentre.co.uk is a popular UK based doctor finding service. The service allows patients to search for nearby doctors, clinics and dentists within the UK.
