Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) September 16, 2014 - On Saturday, October 11, 2014, Dress for Success Miami will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with an over-the-top gala, "Gangstas, Gals and Glam." Dress for Success Miami has helped 50,000 clients re-enter the workforce and, through the gala, will ensure continued support to the residents in Miami- Dade County.
Dress for Success Miami is excited to welcome Honorary Chairs Maritere and Jon Secada, as well as Honorary Chairwoman Star Jones. Emceeing the evening will be Local 10 news anchors Laurie Jennings and Calvin Hughes. Our "Honorary Gals" for the evening include CBS 4 entertainment reporter Lisa Petrillo; NBC 6 anchor Trina Robinson; actress, TV host and entrepreneur Adriana Cataño; and lifestyle director for Antena305.com, journalist and correspondent for CNN Español Paula Lamas.
Get ready for an unforgettable evening beginning at 7:30 p.m. Guests will be welcomed by a red carpet, followed by a cocktail reception with exquisite passed hors d'oeuvres, as well as wine and spirits, including signature Dress for Success Miami cocktails provided by Diageo.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on extraordinary items in a silent auction, including "staycations" from Miami's most luxurious hotels; experiences from the best restaurants in South Florida including a 3-course pasta making class by renowned Miami Chef Nunzio of Bocce Bar; 2015 Grammy Award tickets; rock n' roll memorabilia; exclusive jewelry and many more exciting items.
Miami based fashion designer Julian Chang has joined Dress for Success Miami in support of its gala. This talented and creative designer is providing a custom, one-of-a-kind gown for the silent auction, as well as designing evenings looks for very special guests; two Dress for Success Miami clients.
Following the cocktail hour, the festivities will officially commence! Attendees will enter the ballroom for a gourmet dinner and dancing. Throughout the ballroom Diageo will be providing a selection of its signature brands. The evening's entertainment will be extraordinary, and features internationally renowned music group Tártara; maestro singer, pianist and entertainer Bill Campbell; and Alto Reed, Grammy Award-winning recording artist, founding and current member of Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band and recipient of a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
After dinner, guests can play their luck at the casino. From blackjack to poker, from slots to roulette, guests will have the opportunity to win magnificent prizes. While at the casino, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a cigar by one of Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 brands, Oliva.
