Launched in 2002, the purpose of PUGSGIVING is to raise much needed money and awareness for pugs in need of medical care and homes. It is the biggest event of its kind in Florida. There will be a large silent auction with a room full of items for both people and pets. Auction items will feature everything from Disney Park passes to pug collectibles. In addition to the silent auction, there will be door prizes and hourly raffles. Corporate sponsors include the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Pet Foods, Inc, Olympia Pharmacy, North Florida Neurology, Animal Eye Clinic of North Florida, Plantation Animal Hospital, Woof Gang Bakery, and South Seminole Animal Hospital.
"I can't emphasize enough the importance of PUGSGIVING to the Pug Rescue of Florida and the pugs we serve. We consistently have over 100 pugs in foster care and the money we raise goes directly to providing veterinary care for our foster pugs. We look forward to yet another successful event; our goal for PUGSGIVING this year is to raise at least $25,000", says Kelli Spence, President of Pug Rescue of Florida, Inc.
