Dr. Paul LeBlanc To Moderate Panel Discussion At CAEL Conference Next Month
Award Winning Innovator Joins Renowned University Leaders To Discuss "Innovative Disruptions in Higher Education".
- (1888PressRelease) October 25, 2013 - Chicago - Award-winning education innovator Dr. Paul J. LeBlanc, President of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), will moderate a panel discussion of "Innovative Disruptions in Higher Education," at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) 2013 International Conference, Pamela Tate, CAEL CEO and president announced today.
"Destination Education-Charting a Course to Degree Completion," is a must-attend event for any innovators in higher education. It will be held Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 6-8, at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina in San Diego, CA.
Educators participating on the panel are Marie Cini, Provost, University of Maryland University College; John Ebersole, President, Excelsior College; Anthony Beebe, President, San Diego Continuing Education, San Diego Community College District; and Deborah Bushway, Vice President, Academic Innovation, Capella University.
Dr. LeBlanc has been at SNHU since 2003. Under his leadership, the university has more than doubled in size and is the largest provider of online higher education in New England. In 2012, it was number 12 on Fast Company magazine's list of "World's Fifty Most Innovative Companies," and the only university included.
SNHU has been identified by the Gates Foundation as a "Beating the Odds" school for its innovative programming to increase graduation rates and productivity. It has also been named to the Chronicle's "Best Colleges to Work For" list yearly, and in 2011, was named to the Honor Roll, earned a Carnegie Foundation Community Engagement classification in 2010, moved from Tier 3 to Tier 1 for regional universities in the US News and World Report ranking, and had its credit rating upgraded by S&P amidst the 2008 recession.
Organizations including the New England Board of Higher Education, the Lumina Foundation, Rhode Island Board of Higher Education, and Harvard's Schools of Business and Education have asked Dr. LeBlanc to speak on innovation, online learning and higher education reform.
Dr. LeBlanc is Chair of the board of CAEL, and sits on a number of other boards and steering committees. He has received numerous awards including the New England Higher Education Excellence Award. He was also named one of "New Hampshire's Most Influential People" by New Hampshire Business Review.
The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization based in Chicago, Illinois that assists adults with their educational endeavors, finding practical ways to earn college credit for learning acquired through training and work experiences.
