(1888PressRelease) March 04, 2016 - Dr. JK Goyal, Director of JIMS institute delivered a session at 3rd South Asian Colloquium on Doctoral Programme (SACDOC 2016); challenges and responses within South Asian Context held at pearl continental hotel Lahore, Pakistan on 17th and 18th of February. It was organized by University of Management and Technology, National Business Educational Council, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan which is at par with UGC of India. The main objectives of this year's conference were to strengthen the business schools by sharing ideas, resources and infrastructure as well as ways of enhancing research activities in business schools through industry academia partnerships. It also focused on providing recommendations to the business schools for enhancing employability skills of business graduates.

Dr. JK Goyal, Director-JIMS, India chaired a session and was also invited as one of the panel speakers. He addressed on the topic "How to Cultivate Research Culture in Business Schools". He addressed the audience with the significance of Doctoral program in Management. He further communicated about the career progression chart, Modern technology plagiarism, guide attitude, process supervision, content of Doctoral program and recent trends in Ph.D. He also provided guidance for writing thesis/dissertation and made them aware of its value addition.

The organizers- Prof. Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad, Chairman NBEAC, Mr. Ahtesham Ali Raja, Program Director and Ms. Sania Tufail, Program Manager, thanked him for his valuable inputs.

The conference was held for two days. There were two workshops dealing with benefits to the Business Schools and the Faculty, Developing Entrepreneurs with an art exhibition and integral discussion about roles and responsibilities of business school's teachers and hiring and motivating qualified faculty on the very first day of the colloquium. The following day commenced with presentations and discussions about Industry expectations from the business graduates and making Business Schools more relevant for industry.

A panel of reputed speakers and academicians from various countries was present at the conference which included Dr. Nalin Abeysekera -Senior Lecturer Open University of Sri Lanka, Dr. Nadia Tahir-head of department of Management Studies Bahria University, Islamabad, Dr. Pervez Tahir-Former Chief Economist,Emeritus GCU, Pakistan, Mohammad Jasimuddin - commonwealth Secretariat Marlborough House, London UK, and many more. The fundamental of this colloquium was not just confined to impart knowledge pertinent in operational doctoral programs in business schools but also was an initiating anecdote for providing indigenous thought in improving the quality of education in South Asian region.
