- (1888PressRelease) April 11, 2012 - Jennifer Languell, Ph.D., president of Trifecta Construction Solutions and nationally renowned green construction expert, has been selected to serve as a judge for the 2012 Environmental Protection Agency's P3 competition. The P3 competition, which stands for people, prosperity and planet, is a design competition that enables college students from across the U.S. to develop scientific, technical and policy solutions to sustainability challenges. The competition will take place on Earth Day weekend, April 21 to 23 in Washington, D.C.
"The P3 competition is both exciting and fulfilling," said Dr. Languell. "These students are developing projects that represent the future of the green construction industry."
Dr. Languell will be involved in reviewing the written proposals presented by students, evaluating the progress and projections for the projects, and making recommendations to the EPA on project funding. This is the second time that Dr. Languell has been asked to judge this competition.
About the P3 competition
P3 stands for people, prosperity and the planet. College students address challenges from a wide range of categories: water, energy, agriculture, built environment, and materials and chemicals. These can be challenges found in the developed or developing world. Student teams compete for $15,000 grants. Recipients use the money to research and develop their design projects during the academic year, then submit their reports to a panel of judges at the annual Washington, D.C. exposition.
