Dr. David Sloss, Named Medical Director at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center
Emergency Medicine Physicians (EMP) is pleased to announce that David Sloss, MD, is the Medical Director at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center in Casa Grande, AZ, effective May 1, 2011.
- (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2011 - Dr. Sloss received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Sloss completed his residency at Washington University, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a staff physician at the Emergency Department at SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Sloss has training in incident response to terrorist bombings and prevention and response to suicide bombing incidents. Dr. Sloss was a 2010 EMP Scholar and currently serves as a staff physician at Eisenhower Medical Center Emergency Department in Rancho Mirage, California. Dr. Sloss has been with EMP Partners (formerly EPMG) since 2008.
When asked if he had any words of wisdom for someone planning a career in medicine, Dr. Sloss said "Go for the field you enjoy the most, and your happiness will follow."

As a child, did you dream of becoming a physician?
My first dream career was to be an entomologist. Before I had made it to junior high, I had changed my mind to becoming a doctor. As a kid I thought it would be fascinating, and the idea stuck into adulthood.
Why did you choose Emergency Medicine?
EM has a little bit of everything and feeds perfectly into my ADD.
When you are not working a rigorous schedule in the ED, what do you do in your free time?
I just had a baby boy, so that's my primary hobby now. I'll have him playing video games with me in no time.
