  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) April 16, 2015 - The Yonkers Downtown Waterfront BID and a variety of community groups have joined forces to "turn the city greener" starting April 18th.

Adds Kenneth Dearden, BID President and founder of DW Capital, a local developer, "The award-winning daylighting of the Saw Mill River, our lovely parks and recreation areas, environmentally-friendly buildings like 66 Main, and our groundbreaking educational centers, namely the SLC Center for the Urban River at Beczak and the Science Barge, all earned the Downtown Yonkers Waterfront a reputation as the environmental center of Westchester.

Earth Week activities include environmental clean-ups and beautification projects (involving people from throughout the County), walking tours, plantings, educational activities at the Yonkers Science Barge and Beczak, and family entertainment.
