- (1888PressRelease) April 10, 2017 - Good news for senior citizens in Berkeley as Breathe Health Center & Services is launching something very good for the community. This is their Community-Access health care program which includes acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, massage and oxygen therapy. This will be on offer on April 22 (Earth Day) and the prices are affordable. The sliding-fee scale will be implemented and while the affordable health care services are open to anyone, the clinic said it will prioritize appointments.
More than affordability
Breathe Healthcare Center specializes in alternative means to manage and treat illnesses. Aside from being an affordable health care alternative as opposed to heavily chemical treatments, the establishment is set to educate their patients towards more independent care.
"We don't mean to encourage patients to treat their illnesses without the guidance of a medical professional, but we do want to educate them about their illnesses and how to beat them. Most patients lose all hope when it comes to treating their diseases that it's hard for even strong chemical treatments to battle it out with the disease. Our ways are considered alternative medical treatments but we also focus on healing not just the body but the spirit through education and awareness. Once our patients understand what it is they're fighting against, they become empowered. They know what to do. Most show amazing improvements even traditional hospitals would be amazed to see," said Jane, a nurse at the health center.
Peter and Crystal are in their 60s. Both have heart conditions which are not deadly but do limit their enjoyment of retirement. "Maintenance tablets are so expensive. We have no choice but to take them. However, aside from keeping our blood pressures down for the most part, we were not really receiving any treatment with our other aches and pains. My husband and I are excited about their chiropractic services. Hopefully, Peter and I could get rid of our ligament pains once we receive treatment from this Berkeley. We enjoy the fact that we get to rest from work now, but we also want to travel without being bothered by joint and ligament pains," says Crystal.
Holistic approaches
Aside from alternative treatments like chiropractic services and oxygen therapy, the clinic will focus on giving its patients holistic lifestyle advice. Doctors will be there to examine the patient's nutrition and how it can be adjusted so that the patient can enjoy better health.
They are also offering discounts on supplements and other health care supplies. Best of all, these patients will not be turned away just because they have no money for treatments and consultations. In a way, the doctors are giving back and reaching out to the community.
"We're grateful and relieved," said Peter. "When you're old, you always worry about your health care needs. It's good that a health center like this is opening in Berkeley. At least we know our pension won't go down the drain just because the prices of our health care needs are skyrocketing."
If commuting, it is good to know that the clinic is only a block away from the BART Station. It is located at the corner of Shattuck and University Avenues.
