This web tension controller is a fully featured, automatic closed loop tension control unit, providing output stability and unsurpassed versatility and Web tension management in even the most extreme application. With the ability to maintain a preselected tension point whether on a web machine or across, by measuring the tension from a transducer or a transducer pair.
Sending compensating signals to other tensioning devices, the closed loop digital PID control algorithm lets all manufacturers improve productivity and consistency dramatically. With the colorful, bright and large graphic user interface, the SteadyWeb™5 Web Tension Controller it is very easy to use. With minimal instructions and minimal training time, your operators will be able to increase their speed in any process with this new tension controller.
With fast and easy scrolling through every configuration value, or simply selecting a quick adjustment to any specific tension point, you can quickly and easily online, rewind or use this controller in intermediate tension zones. With a variety of controller output modes, it is extremely useful for electric brakes, pneumatic brakes, clutches, DC and AC drives and eddy current clutches. With a 0 to 10 volt AC drive compensated output, additional variable speed drive systems and isolated Earth grounding, the SteadyWeb™5 Web Tension Controller is more compatible with a larger variety of drive systems.
Its pneumatic output can actually any type of air operated clutch or break, the standard version comes with a servo valve and pressure regulator in separate enclosures. The high-voltage output uses only high quality, silicon controlled rectifiers to produce a standard variable voltage up to 90Vdc to operate any electric clutch or break, including any current clutch. With its 4.3-inch graphic display, this web tension controller has an extraordinary number of pictures, ideal for a number of applications.
It comes with a menu scroll, soft keys, wall or panel mount installation and power input selections of 100-240 Vac 60/50 Hz or 24 Vdc. It's isolated 0-10 Vdc control output, 0-1 mA kitchen output, storage, recall, auto detection and selection of transducer excitation, automatic and manual mode, emergency stop circuit, integrated diagnostic tools, ratio output, sample and hold output, soft start, operator lockout in tension meter damping put the SteadyWeb™5 Web Tension Controller in a class of its own.
