Dove And Stellar Award Nominee Mary Alessi Releases New Praise & Worship CD, Pressing On
Worship Leader's Project Reflects Perseverance Through Life's Challenges.
- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) September 29, 2010 - Mary Alessi has a gift of bringing others into the very presence of God. The Dove Award and Stellar Award nominee, twin sister of GRAMMY Award nominee Martha Munizzi, is known for songs like "More" and her Billboard-charting release, When Women Worship. The co-pastor of Metro Life Church in Miami, FL, has had the opportunity to work with Christian music's finest including Israel Houghton, Aaron Lindsey, Nicole Binion and her twin. Now, Mary drops her fourth CD on Miami Life Sound Records called Pressing On on September 21, 2010. Produced by the artist herself, the new 15-track musical collection contains memorable songs of worship and praise to God.
Known for embracing and celebrating contemporary gospel music, this project finds the artist displaying her love for gospel music while adding a more contemporary Christian sound. Songs like the riveting, original song "I Surrender All" and the breathtaking medley "I'll Come Running/Have Your Way In Me" will find Alessi's fans rejoicing with uplifted arms. Munizzi joins her sister on the declarative "More Than Conquerors" and multiple award winning producer Lindsey contributes his song, co-written with Mary, "Hero". Other worship masterpieces include the moving "I Will Bless The Lord", the rock-edged "Hope In Me" and the inspirational "All The Doors".
Many will also love the pretty, acoustic-driven "Pressing On", a track about persevering through life's challenges - something Mary has experienced first-hand following the sudden heart attack of her husband, Steve, a few years ago. "There was a moment where fear tried to tell me that my husband was dying in front of me," recalls Mary. "But all those years of trusting God, all the times I had to lean on Him to receive my peace just flashed before my eyes. I knew - despite the fear and uncertainty - that no matter what it looked like, I had to press on." Alessi's Pressing On, distributed by New Day Christian Distributors and Select-O-Hits, is being supported by media tour in New York City and Philadelphia, PA.
Mary, the daughter of traveling evangelists, got her start in gospel music, on the road with her family in Lakeland, Florida. Shortly thereafter, she and her two sisters started a group named Testament and toured their home state. Alessi was featured on Munizzi's 2006 album No Limits Live and gained popularity with her own project, More, which peaked at #44 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums Chart. She released When Women Worship in 2007 with fellow female praise and worship leaders Nicole Binion, Da'dra Crawford-Greathouse, Cindy Cruse Ratcliff, Ingrid Rosario and Munizzi. The CD peaked at #13 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart with the project netting her a Stellar Award Nomination for Special Event CD of the Year. She's also garnered a Dove Award nomination for Alvin Slaughter's rendition of her song "Great Grace".
