  • (1888PressRelease) February 06, 2012 - San Diego, CA - Brent Nelson, President of DoggieQR.com today announces the formal opening of DoggieQR.com

Mr. Nelson's newest Internet venture has created a product that takes a modern and revolutionary approach to solve an ancient problem; finding lost dogs owners as quickly as possible.

The Company has created stainless steel dog tags in different collar configurations that are laser etched with QR (Quick Response) Codes. You've seen QR codes on everything from theme park tickets to your morning newspaper to your favorite fast food drink cup. But, this little square barcode can do much more than marketing.

In our case, since 65% of the U.S. Population (200 million) will have a smart-phone or tablet capable of reading a QR code by 2015, we figured it was time to devise a cheaper, smarter pet identification system.

The rescuer of a lost dog can now either scan Spot's QR coded tag with any free smart-phone QR app or input its serial number on any Internet enabled computer. The device will go directly to Spot's own web page which we provide and is included in the purchase price. There are no recurring web fees. All the owner's contact information is included along with Spot's veterinary, medical, special needs, preferred food, allergy, vaccination and reward info. You can see a demo at DoggieQR.com.

Our product is nicely retail packaged in a slick clamshell and is designed to be simple to understand and set up. It takes only a couple of minutes to provide the proper information and optionally upload Spot's picture.

We have notified all the regional dog shelters that this product exists and have provided training to those who desired. They are very happy that most of the U.S. Population can retrieve all the contact information rather than having to bring a pet into the vet or animal control as required with injectables. Humane Societies are in negotiation with us to put our tags on all of their dogs.
