DirectRooms.com - Hong Kong plays host to region's largest seafood event in September 2010
DirectRooms.com can announce that a new seafood trade event will be taking place in Hong Kong from 7th to 9th September 2010.
- (1888PressRelease) August 14, 2010 - Asian Seafood Exhibition will be the largest of its kind in the Chinese region and will see exhibits from leading members of the seafood industry including suppliers and traders as well as companies involved with seafood processing and packaging equipment.
Buyers from Asian and foodservice markets will be able to meet suppliers of fresh, dried, processed and ready-made seafood products. Other buyers in attendance will also include representatives from hotels, supermarkets, caterers and hospitality operators as well as some of Hong Kong's 11,000 restaurants.
Hong Kong has a declining domestic supply of seafood and much of the region's produce now comes from international distributors. The show represents an opportunity for importers to meet demand from the region's population of seven million people and to act as suppliers for some of the estimated $2.8 billion worth of fish and seafood products that were imported in 2008.
Professionals from the seafood sector staying in hotels in Hong Kong will be assembling at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to catch up on the latest news from the industry.
Running for three days in Hong Kong's Wanchai district, the event will run parallel with "Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong 2010". The show, now in its ninth year, attracts more than 8,000 visitors every year and qualified seafood industry executives can receive free entry to both events.
