- (1888PressRelease) August 06, 2015 - Palm Springs, California - Pebble Beach Monterey Auto Luxe to Showcase DiMora Vicci 6.2 Convertible- First American Showing of Million Dollar Rolling Art. Pebble Beach Monterey Auto Luxe is proud to announce that the luxury Art Deco Vicci 6.2 Emperor convertible by DiMora Motorcar will be presented at the Stanton Center Museum, located at 5 Custom House Way, Monterey on August 11-15, 2015, during Monterey Car Week. The event, which is open to the public, will be the first time the 430-horsepower DiMora Vicci 6.2 rolling art will be presented in North America.
DiMora Neoclassic Vicci 6.2 Emperor Convertible
"Even though we are an independent North American manufacturer, up until now the DiMora Vicci 6.2 Emperor has only been shown in Asia at select, invitation-only art events," said Sir Alfred J. DiMora, owner of DiMora Motorcar. "We are very pleased to make the featured American debut of the DiMora Vicci 6.2 Emperor at the 2015 Pebble Beach Monterey Auto Luxe event."
The world-renowned automobile auctions by RM Sotheby's and Russo and Steele will be taking place right next door to the Monterey Auto Luxe event, giving thousands of registered bidders an opportunity for a first-hand look at the exclusive DiMora Vicci 6.2 Emperor on display. Spectators at the show will also see another automotive first. The DiMora Vicci 6.2 Emperor is the first production automobile in automotive history to showcase a limited edition car with art on the hood and side panels.
Phil Elfstrom of the Monterey Auto Luxe said of the upcoming presentation, "This is a unique opportunity and definitely takes the Monterey Auto Luxe to a whole new level. We are also excited to have the one-of-a-kind, original canvas painting by renowned artist Master Lee Sun-Don accompany the car. A special in-house process was used to transfer the artwork onto the DiMora Vicci 6.2 Emperor Convertible in a collaboration of art and car. The painting and DiMora Vicci bring true art and automotive excellence together."
"Development Unbound" by Zen Master Lee Sun-Don
"The Pebble Beach Monterey Auto Luxe event is an opportunity to view one of the pieces of rolling art that DiMora Motorcar has to offer," added DiMora. "The first limited edition is our Emperor series of 25 automobiles, each featuring unique artwork by acclaimed artist Master Lee Sun-Don."
The DiMora Vicci 6.2 Emperor 1.2 million dollar rolling art has many aesthetically pleasing features that showcase the DiMora brands' originality and set them apart in the automotive world. These include: gold-leafing strategically placed throughout the car; DiMora's Carbon DFD to provide corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity, and electromagnetic interference shielding for the body while reducing the vehicle weight to 2,820 pounds; an aluminum radiator; a 430 hp, 6.2 liter aluminum engine; state-of-the-art electronics; wire wheels exclusive to the DiMora Vicci 6.2; racing suspension; and an aluminum drive shaft. Italian leather and English Wilton Wool carpet add to the luxury ambiance. A Bosch Hydro-Boost Power Booster accompanies the Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes. The custom welded and machined exhaust tips were designed as if they are a fine piece of jewelry.
Accompanying the 430-hp engine is an aluminum 4-speed or 6-speed paddle shifter along with a posi rear end. The car is completely handcrafted by one of the last independent coachbuilders, taking a precision-intense and laser-focused 1,700 man-hours for each build.
Once Master Lee Sun-Don completes each custom painting, the meticulous process of transferring it to the DiMora Vicci Emperor begins. It takes 375 man-hours to replicate the artwork onto each individual Vicci Emperor, using highly skilled craftsmen at DiMora Motorcar. The artisans carefully reproduce every fine detail from the original canvas, to succinctly match each painting onto the Vicci Emperor. Each owner buying a limited edition-1 of 25 from the DiMora Vicci 6.2 Emperor Series-also receives the original canvas painting by artist Master Lee Sun-Don that defines the custom painting on the unique, hand-built production car.
As reported in the Huffington Post, DiMora recently spoke of the opportunity to create a new synthesis of formerly dissimilar investment genres, fine art and fine automobiles. "Just as Dale Chihuly's unique, hand-blown glass art helped change the typical paint and canvas art platform, so will this innovative blending of art with the automobile…," said DiMora.
