- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) September 08, 2021 - Vincent Myers, AIA, LEED AP, President, DIGroupArchitecture LLC, was a recent guest on Health Professional Radio. In the segment, “Architecture for Senior Living,” Myers offered insight on Senior Living and how it has transitioned from the hospitality sector into the health care zone.
Many senior living facilities only cater to one type of care, but it remains a challenge to keep these spaces open and inclusive for all types of seniors. As a leader in the architectural field, Myers discussed the merits of inclusivity, “A facility might lend itself to a certain community. I would like to see more environments that cater to different needs...towards healthier places to live.”
When asked how he sees senior living as a health care product from an architectural point of view, Myers remarked, “Every single environment that is geared for seniors is starting to recognize that due to the age of the seniors going into their facilities they will need to provide additional services…and will need to respond very quickly.”
DIGroupArchitecture is one of a handful of African-American owned architectural firms in the area. Since establishing a Philadelphia Office in 2019, the firm has 20 active projects that include libraries, parks and recreation facilities, healthcare and educational institutions, and civic clients.

ABOUT DIGROUP ARCHITECTURE:
DIGroup Architecture is one of the area’s largest minority-owned and disadvantaged (MBE-DBE) architectural firms specializing in architecture, planning, interior design and environmental graphics, signage and wayfinding services for Education, Healthcare, Senior Living and Civic clients. The firm is known for regenerating urban areas through redevelopment, preservation, adaptive reuse and new construction. The company takes great pride in its ethnically and culturally diverse staff who are passionate about architecture.
DIG originated as a consortium of several small architectural firms who formed an alliance to collaborate and compete for large projects issued by the NJ Schools Development Authority that revitalized the state’s most under-served public school districts. This collaboration became so successful at delivering many of the state’s most significant, community-centered design projects that the firms formally merged in 2006. The profound impact these projects had on the most basic human need of health and wellness, brought a whole new meaning and purpose to the firm. From that point forward, “Architecture for Change” became our story, design philosophy and commitment to clients to re-imagine structures and environments to unite people, enhance well-being and enrich communities. DIG’s success has not gone unnoticed; in 2021 the company was ranked #13 in top Minority Businesses and #15 in top Architectural firms by NJBIZ and #29 in Philadelphia Business Journal.
Today, DIGroup Architecture is exponentially growing; its reach spanning New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. For more information on the firm, please contact: Debra Koehler, at dkoehler ( @ ) digrouparchitecture dot com or 732.249.6242 X110.
