- (1888PressRelease) April 15, 2011 - DALLAS -- Four years following the debut of "International Patient Recruitment Regulatory Guidelines, Customs and Practices," patient recruitment expert Diana Anderson, Ph.D., is poised to publish under contract with CenterWatch, a leading publisher of clinical trials information, a more in-depth tome on topics impacting the conduct of global clinical trials. Dr. Anderson is president of D. Anderson & Company, a patient recruitment organization serving the global clinical trials industry. This will be the fifth book in her body of work, which includes "A Guide to Patient Recruitment and Retention" and "A Guide to Patient Recruitment"--both published by CenterWatch--and "50 Ways to Cope with Arthritis."
Scheduled for release in early 2012, "Global Issues in Patient Recruitment and Retention" features scholarly analyses of ethics, regulations, operations, site feasibility and protocol evaluation, metrics reporting, budgeting and contracting, social media impact, and the influence of minority trial participation, among other topics. Additionally, the book presents perspectives on recruitment challenges and solutions from key players in the clinical trial schematic: trial sponsors and clinical trial sites. Special interest chapters highlight clinical activity along the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China)--four countries on similarly accelerated paths of economic development.
"I'm very excited that CenterWatch and D. Anderson & Company are collaborating on this new book initiative," says Joan Chambers, chief operating officer for CenterWatch. "As sponsor companies look to conduct more clinical trials globally, it is critical to have a good understanding of the various challenges and issues professionals face when involved in recruiting patients to ensure a successful clinical trial."
Dr. Anderson is a board member of Journal for Clinical Studies, R&D Directions and The Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation. She also serves as faculty advisor to the Clinical Research Education and Management Academy in Mumbai, India.
