- (1888PressRelease) August 01, 2012 - "They are poor not only in materials but also in their spiritual world. They've seen nothing except huge mountains…" A video taken in a mountainous region of China caught the attention of all the honored guests attending DHgate's 8th Anniversary event. Diane Wang, the founder and CEO of DHgate.com indicated that DHgate will make contributions to charities by donating desks and a library to Jinan primary school, located in a mountainous region of western China during its 8th Anniversary, starting 27 July 2012.
Jinan primary school, in Gao County, is in the southwest of China and is located in the border region of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan. Jinan primary has more than 280 students ranging from pre-school to grade six and 10 teachers at the school. The school has old, broken desks and chairs, no library books for reading at home. Such hardship compelled DHgate.com to take action. As a result, the company will make a special donation to Jinan primary to build a library and buy new desks.
"DHgate.com has grown due to friendship from partners and colleagues. As a friend, we hope we can help children in these mountain areas by starting work-study activities that encourage them to grow happily. We will continue to make other contributions to society in various ways."
DHgate.com(www.DHgate.com) has announced that it will donate one yuan from every successful deal made during its 8th Anniversary promotional activities. All donations will be used by Chunmiao Public Assistance Center to buy desks, chairs, bookshelves and age-appropriate extracurricular books for Jinan primary school to improve its teaching resources and build a library. Chunmiao Public Assistance Center is the first legal public assistance organization in Sichuan province and has organized more than 80 activities to help poor students in 29 counties and cities of six provinces including Sichuan, Chongqing, Anhui, Yunnan, Shandong and Hunan.
