Created to encourage early learning, the interactive design uses techniques such as word, picture assocation and word pronounciation, to entertain and engage with its users.

Containing four storybooks, the app focuses around the central character Detective Dexter Doggley. This adventurous and helpful pooch sniffs out clues and solves mysteries using his amazing sense of smell and powers of deduction. He is surrounded by a cast of equally captivating characters.

The first 7 pages of each book being free to preview; parents or guardians looking to download full episodes can purchase the entire 24-25 page versions of each storybook at a special release price of US$1.99.

Founder Kishin Harjani, the inspiration behind the app, says, "My four year old niece loves playing on the iPad and I was shocked to see that most of the content out there is being created purely with entertainment in mind. The educational aspect is being widely ignored by most developers. Once our team had created the app, I thought it fitting that my niece should be one of our first test users. As soon as she realised she could tap on objects within the screen, she was interacting on her own and didn't even realise she was learning new vocabulary at a pace that suited her."

While Kishin created, founded and developed the Dexter and Friends app brand, he has also cleverly combined the creative skills of UK based writer Tamara Forge, specialist voiceover artist Ingrid Gerdes of ILG Music and, among many others, the creative graphics studios of Deveomedia.
