Detroit-based Media Network a Model of Collaboration
GoodVibe Community Media Network is a program of Make This World Foundation, a Michigan based Not for Profit Corporation formed in 2009. GoodVibe is envisioned as a digital radio and TV network featuring a unique mix of independent local music and cultural arts programming throughout its schedule.
- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) October 04, 2018 - A Detroit based organization is quietly building a digital enterprise unlike anything before it. GoodVibe Community Media Network is the work of Make this World Foundation, a Michigan based nonprofit devoted to outreach and advocacy through media. GoodVibe.FM currently streams audio through its website and mobile app, while GoodVibe.TV is being developed as a companion site for original video content. The network is now building a roster of Content Producers who will receive training in media production and become eligible to submit programming for distribution. GoodVibe is also a registered producer for the Public Radio Satellite System which serves more than 400 public radio stations around the country. “We hope GoodVibe provides an online destination that's user friendly, easy to remember and also communicates a bit of what we're about as a new entity” explained David Pittman, General Manager for GoodVibe Community Media Network.
GoodVibe is envisioned as a digital radio and TV network featuring a unique mix of independent local music and cultural arts programming throughout its schedule. Realizing this vision would require a broad network of support and inventive use of technology. “We reached out to people who were doing really creative things and asked for help. They we’re very receptive to helping us define our own vision for community media in Detroit.” Colorado’s Open Media Foundation offered insight into their operations at Denver Open Media while critical technology solutions were provided by another partner located in Canada’s remote Yukon Territory. The network will leverage Audio Over Internet Protocol or AOIP technology to inexpensively connect multiple studios across several locations. GoodVibe already conducts programs with Hannan Center and Northwest Activities Center in Detroit, Ann Arbor District Library and several other local partners. GoodVibe is among the more than 70 social justice, art, media and technology related Sponsored Projects of Allied Media Projects.

Founder David Pittman is a veteran multimedia producer and voice talent with previous career assignments at WGPR, WJR, WUOM and TV-Tokyo in New York City among others. The foundation is organized to provide distribution services for cause related media campaigns.
